Mit der Platzreife wird sichergestellt, dass Golf-Anfänger weder sich selbst noch andere Personen gefährden, im zügigen Spielfluss mithalten können und den Platz pfleglich behandeln. Nur wer die dafür notwendigen Grundlagen beherrscht, bekommt die Platzerlaubnis. Der Inhalt der Ausbildung setzt sich aus den drei Prüfungsteilen „Verhalten auf dem Platz“, „Golfspiel“ und „Theorie“ zusammen.
